As we have configured Courses, Offerings, Activities and Contents, it’s time to start exploring and experiencing Oracle Fusion Cloud Learn from employees prospective. Let’s login as an employee and follow below navigation

This takes you to oracle learn landing page as shown below
On the My Learning Experience page you can observe following items
- At the top you will notice different tabs such as
- Required Learning : You will see all required learning items assigned to you which you have not completed yet.
- Current Learning : This also shows all learning items assigned to you but it also includes optional learnings.
- All Completed Learning : This will show all learning items required or optional which you have completed as on today.
- Learning History : This shows all learning items, required, optional, completed, in-progress, enrolled, withdrawn etc. This keeps track of all your learning activities.
- For any of these tabs, you can always sort learning items using following options
- Due Date
- Most Recently Assigned
- Most Recently Completed
- Title
- Most Relevant
- If you scroll down to My Learning Experience page, you will see following three different tabs
- My Learning : This is the default tab enabled for learners (employees) when you land on oracle learn landing page. We have been exploring this tab so far. While you are on this tab you will notice following two buttons at the top right corner
- Actions : If you click on this you will see following two options, you can explore these options later once you finish activities outlined in this article.
- Request Noncatalog Learning : You can read this article later to know more about this » Learn to Request a Noncatalog Item in Oracle Learning Cloud
- View My Learning Communities : You can read this article later to know more about this » Learn to Configure and Use Self-Service Community
- Record External Learning :
- Actions : If you click on this you will see following two options, you can explore these options later once you finish activities outlined in this article.
- Browse : Click on this tab and the page header changes to Brose Learning. You will notice that system has intelligently categorized all learning items into different categories such as
- Featured
- Recommended
- Business Skills
- Corporate Human Resource
- My Learning : This is the default tab enabled for learners (employees) when you land on oracle learn landing page. We have been exploring this tab so far. While you are on this tab you will notice following two buttons at the top right corner
We will learn later in this article how we can categorize learning items using communities or courses. You can click on each category to explore further. At the top you can also click on the Topic Index button, which lets learners to follow category or community of their choice.

- Search : Click on this tab and you can search learning items from the learning universe. Title of the page changes to Explore the learning Catalog. I hope you are now familiar with the word catalog. We configured various catalogs earlier. Digital Marketing Fundamentals is one example of that.
At the top you will see different filter options such as Category, Topic, Learning Type, Learning Format etc. Lets say, you are only interested for self-paced learning, perform following actions

- Click on Learning Format filter option.
- Click your cursor on Learning Format search field, you will see following three offering types
- Instructor-Led
- Self-Paced
- Blended
- Select Self-Paced
- Once selected, click your cursor outside the search filter and you will see all courses offering self-paced delivery method.
- At the end of the search filter you will notice how many filters are applied, click on Clear(1) link to remove the filter we just applied.

Voluntarily Enroll to a Course
Courses can be assigned to learners by their learning manager or administrator, but learners can also browse and enroll in available courses voluntarily. As we explore Oracle Cloud Learning from an employee’s perspective, we will see how a learner can voluntarily enroll in a course.
While you are still logged in as an employee. Click on the Search tab and search for the Digital Marketing Fundamentals course we created earlier.
Click on the course name and you will see course details, click on either Get Started button or Learn More, both will take you to Course Details page. You will see following sections which we configured earlier
- Overview
- Details
- Related Learning
- Available Offerings
Expand the Available Offerings section and you will see all four offerings we created earlier for this course. Click on View Details link for Self-Paced offering. This will take to Course Offering Details page and you will see following three sections
- Overview : This section will display the type of the offering and language.
- Offering Details : This will display the offering description you entered earlier and any Related Materials you uploaded while configuring offering.
- Activities : This section show all activities and evaluation associated with the offering. You will see following three activities for this offering, which you configured earlier.
- Online Content – PDF
- Assessment
- Evaluation
- Scroll up and click on Enroll button.
You will receive following confirmation message.
You will see following sections on the Digital Marketing Fundamentals page.
- Overview
- Completion Status
- Selected Offerings
- Related Materials
- Enrollment Life Cycle
- Learning Record Details
You can expand each section to understand them better. Let’s assume although you have enrolled to the course but you dont have time to complete course activities immediately. You logoff and log-in back next day. Does that mean you have to enroll again? NO. You can follow any of navigation below
- Search for the same course again and open it. You don’t need to register again.
- Click on Current Learning tab and you will find the course your enrolled.
- Click on Learning History tab and you will find the course with status Enrolled : Not Started.
Let’s assume you have followed any one of the methods mentioned above and managed to open Digital Marketing Fundamentals page again. Scroll to Completion Status section and you will find all activities listed one after another in the same sequencing order we configured them.
- Second and third activates are locked as they are dependent on the first activity.
- Click on the Launch button that is available against first activity. This will open the PDF in a new tab.
- You can go through the document and then close the tab.
- Return back to Digital Marketing Fundamentals page.
- You will notice that first activity is marked as Completed.
- Second activity Assessment is enabled now. But before you click on Take Assessment button scroll below to Enrollment Life Cycle section.
- Status is changed to Active – In Progress from Active – Not Started.
- Go back to Completion Status section and click on Take Assessment button. Remember you will get only one attempt to try as per our configuration so do select correct answers in first attempt only, anyway you know the correct answer. Also you will only get 10 minutes to complete it. - System will take you to Digital Marketing Assessment page.
- Answer all questions and click on Submit button. You will get a confirmation message : Congratulations! You completed the assessment on time and with a passing score.
- 2 out of 3 activities are completed.
- Click on Evaluate button for the last activity. This will take you to Evaluation page.
- Respond to all questions and click on Submit button.
- You will receive a confirmation message
- You will notice that an additional section Skills and Qualification is added down the page. This is applicable if we have associated any learning outcome. You can read this article to know more out learning outcome » Learn to Link Learning Outcomes with Courses
While you are still on the Digital Marketing Fundamentals page. Click on the Actions button and you will see following options.
- View Learning Item Details : Click on this and it will take you to Course Details page. Click on View Enrollment button and you will be back to Digital Marketing Fundamentals page, with your confirmation message still displayed.
- Ratings : Click on this and you will have option to rate this course. Click on back arrow button at the page header and you will be back to page you started from.
- Comments : Click on this and you will have option to add your conversation regarding this course.
- This is like a chat/conversation learners can capture.
- You can enter text like : A wonderful course on digital marking.
- Once you enter your text, click on three action button against that chat, and you will have option to Edit, Delete, Reply and Like.
- Select Reply option and enter this text : Sorry, missed to thank iavinash.com for all their assistance. It would have not possible to accomplish without them.
- Click on back arrow button
- Report : This option is used if you think content of the course was inappropriate and you want to bring it to admin attention. You can click on this to see available option. You can click on Cancel button to return back.
- Recommended : If you really liked the course, you can recommend it to anyone else like your colleague who would get benefited from this course.
- Click on this option
- Enter comment : Hey there, this is the course probably help you to get more insights on digital marketing.
- Recommend for People : Select person(s) you want to recommend. But for this exercise select the manager of the employee as we will later login as the manager of the employee and see it in the Recommended section on the learning landing page.
- Click on Submit button.< At the end of this article you can follow this article to see how other learner would see it in the recommended section >
- Print Certificate : You have done all hard works, why miss the opportunity to take completion certificate. Click on this to print your completion certificate.
Request Noncatalog Learning
In the steps above we browsed through available learning items and enrolled to one course which we found interesting. But learning should not be restricted to only what we available to us, we should explore beyond that.
Oracle fusion cloud learn even allows you to request for a course that is not available in the catalog. While you are on My Learning Experiences landing page. Click on the Actions menu and select option Request Noncatalog Learning. You can explore below article to learn how this is done step by step.
