1. What is Anytime Feedback?
Anytime Feedback functionality allows employees to give and receive recognition and feedback from anyone at any point of time. Employees can receive Anytime Feedback from colleagues and managers in real time at the point that it matters most, such as after a key meeting or presentation. This functionality can also be used to add self-notes and managers can provide coaching directly regarding specific goals, enabling an ongoing dialogue that is focused on the employee’s daily work activities. Anytime feedback functionality is also used in oracle talent review meeting.
In this article we will see how to configure Anytime Feedback functionality and how to use it.
2. Setups required for Anytime Feedback
Before you start using anytime feedback functionality, you need to configure/confirm the visibility type you want to use for anytime feedback. Visibility type determines who all can see your feedback that you give to your subordinates or colleagues.
To configure the visibility of anytime feedback search for the task Manage Feedback Visibility. When you are in this page, you will see following types of visibility options.
- Everyone – If this option is selected everyone would be able to see the feedback.
- Managers Only – If this option is selected all managers would be able to see the feedback.
- Managers and worker – If this option is selected then along with all Managers, worker for whom the feedback is given can also see the feedback.
- Only me – If this option is selected then only the person who is giving feedback can see the feedback. (This is mostly used for self notes)
- Only worker and me – If this option is selected then only person who is giving feedback and the person who is receiving feedback can see the feedback.
There are two different CONTEXTS available for Feedback Visibility. You can configure whether all visibility types would be available or only few selected types for following two CONTEXTS
- ORA_NO_CONTEXT
- ORA_TALENT_REVIEW_TYPE
First context (ORA_NO_CONTEXT) is for anytime feedback and second context (ORA_TALENT_REVIEW_TYPE) is for Talent Review Meeting.
On Feedback Visibility page you can enable or disable feedback visibility based on the customer requirement. You can also set, which would be the default visibility for each of these CONTEXTS.

3. How to Use Anytime Feedback?
Remember that Anytime Feedback or the Feedback Notes can also be included in performance document same as Check-In Document and Requested Feedback. If you want to add it to performance document open the Process tab of your performance template and under the Processing Options enable the checkbox Display feedback notes.
3.1. How to give anytime feedback?
Using anytime feedback functionality is super easy. To give feedback to any one go to the Spotlight of tat person and click on the Action button and from there select option Provide Feedback.
Alternatively click on the Show More link on the Spotlight navigator and then select option Feedback.
When you are on Feedback page of any employee, you can see all other feedback that employee has received, only if the visibility type allows you to see them.
To give feedback click on the +Add button and then first thing you have to select is who can see your feedback (As shown in the image above). This list is coming from the Visibility Types we configured earlier.
Let’s select the visibility type to Everyone and then under title What do you want to say? enter your actual feedback content and then click on Save button. Now you have given feedback.
At any point of time if you think you have done any mistake, click on the pencil icon (edit button) and amend your content or delete it.
3.1. How to see anytime feedback?
Let’s login from the receivers’ login and see how it looks.
To see all feedback you have received navigate to Me » Career and Performance » Feedback
Here you will see all the feedback you have received so far if the visibility types allow you to see them.
Any feedback that has visibility type Everyone can be hidden also. So, if you do not like any feedback that you have received from anyone, which has the visibility type as Everyone, you can hide that so that only you and the person who has given feedback can see it. To hide it click on the Hide link. Remember, you can only hide it, you cannot delete it.
You can add feedback/note to yourself also. Just select the visibility type as Only Me.
Remember Anytime feedback or the Feedback notes functionality is used only to give feedback. You cannot request feedback from anyone. If you want to request feedback, you have to use Request Feedback functionality.
